Information from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) shows that they have officially closed the list of weight competitions at the Paris Olympic Games 2024. With the gender equality criteria of the Olympic Committee, there will be 248 boxers (124 men and 124 women) to compete in Paris in the near future.
Earlier in the Tokyo Olympic Games, female boxers attending Boxing was only 100/286. At the Rio 2016 Olympics, this figure is much lower: 36 people. This is derived from the reason for the weight of women's weight (3 in Rio and 5 in Tokyo).
At the Paris Olympic Games 2024, boxers will compete in 13 contents, including 7 male weight classes (51kg, 57kg, 63.5 kg, 71 kg, 80 kg, 92kg, over 92kg) and 6 women's weight classes (50kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 66kg and 75kg). The matches in the qualifying round are expected to start from January 2023 and end in May 2024.

Earlier in the Tokyo Olympic Games, the Vietnamese boxing team had two boxers who participated, Nguyen Van Duong and Nguyen Thi Tam.
While Nguyen Van Duong impressed when he won the opening match and then only lost to the reigning champion ASIAD Tsendbaatar Erdenebat, Nguyen Thi Tam was now ranked 7th in the world in his weight class.
