On April 14, Martin Nguyen will confront the “Korean god” Kim Jae Woong at the One On TNT 2 event. Kim “The Fighting God” Jae Woong is a relatively new name of One, he started playing in the tournament since the end of 2019 and up to now only 3 times upper.
However, the “Korean god” still proved quite confident in the upcoming match against the former Vietnamese king.
“I believe that Martin Nguyen is a very dangerous boxer when he is wise and calm. Martin is resistant to objects, anti -lock very well. He is also an experienced puncher,” Kim Jae Woong said in SCMP's Podcast Post Fight.
“In general, I believe that Martin Nguyen is a very strong opponent, but I don't think Martin's chin is hard enough to not be knocked out. In addition, as I said, Martin must calm enough – this sometimes affects his match results.”
Compared to the championship One championship Martin Nguyen's full 4 years, Kim Jae Woong's achievement was more modest, but it was not so bad. Jae Woong once won the Top Fighting Championship of Korea. In the last match, Kim Jae Woong defeated Tetsuya Yamada, a former ZST champion – a major Japanese MMA tournament.
“Being arranged with Martin Nguyen early like this is completely a surprise for me – I thought at least one more match I could fight with him,” Kim Jae Woong said that he was quite surprised when his challenge came to Martin Nguyen approved by One Championship.
“I always know that the style of the two of us will make a beautiful match. When I challenged Martin Nguyen, I was not sure that I would confront him, but I was very happy that One agreed to this match. The match against Martin was the opportunity I proved to the whole world that I could eventually defeat an idol, a martial artist that I was extremely respected.”
