More than 1 year has passed since the loss of the UFC Championship Light Heavyweight, Jan Blachowicz suddenly returned with a belt match. In the context of Jiri Prochazka injury, Glover Teixeira refused to play, Blachowicz was chosen to fight Magomed Ankalaev in the center of UFC 282 event.
Compared to Magomed Ankalaev, Blachowicz is underestimated. The former UFC champion has turned 39, and his performance has not been really good recently. In the opposite direction, Ankalaev is considered as one of the rising stars of UFC by owning a series of 9 consecutive victories.
According to experts, Ankalaev is the leading reserve candidate for UFC belt if the pair between Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira takes place as expected. Blachowicz is not in the plan. Even so, Polish boxers were completely confident, not afraid to be arranged under the opponent.
“This is not too strange for me. I am always considered a lower rival,” Blachowicz confidently said. He added: “In the upcoming match, I will play, win, celebrate and bring UFC belt back to Poland again. I want to and will do so.
Initially, the match between Blachowicz and Ankalaev was only expected to last 3 rounds, each for 5 minutes. But with the two boxers raised to the belt paintings, the match will last up to 5 rounds. It also does not make Blachowicz bother. He said he liked the long -term matches of 5 rounds.
“If it was a match for 3 rounds, I was not sure that I could keep up with the opponent. The 3 rounds took place very quickly, but if it was 5 rounds, I would have more time. Compared to Ankalaev, I have more experience in 5 rounds because my number of 5 rounds is more than him.
