On Sunday, August 2, Jan Blachowicz had the first battle to protect the belt. His opponent is Israel Adesanya, UFC Middleweight champion who moved the weight to Light Heavyweight to win 2 -ranked belt.
Although Adesanya is considered by many to be the above, Jan Blachowicz won when he combined his body advantage as well as long -term experience at the Light Heavyweight weight class. Not only defending and counterattacking striking techniques of “StyleBender”, Blachowicz also overwhelms the opponent with material techniques.
Blachowicz won 49-46 on the two score votes of the jury and 49-45 on the third. He ended a comprehensive battle while launching punches on Adesanya, who had never lost in the general martial arts career starting in 2012.
Blachowicz acknowledged that becoming the first to beat Adesanya was “great” and confirmed that the Nigerian boxer would “remember me until the end of his life”.
“This is a new feeling. I have proven that I am a real champion,” Jan Blachowicz said after victory.
“When you win the match, it is a great feeling. But now, because I have won a person like Israel, one of the best boxers in the world, turning his achievement into 20-1, he will remember me until the end of his life; I was the first to beat him in MMA, it was very different. It was great.”
Adesanya is trying to become the fifth two -weight champion in UFC history. Unfortunately he failed to “Polish Power” and could not achieve the honor that Amanda Nunes, Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier and Henry Cejudo
