Announcing hanging gloves at UFC 254 last November, Khabib Nurmagomedov said he had promised his mother that it would be the last match that he had no father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov at the side.
Since then, although UFC Chairman Dana White has seven times seven times to convince Khabib back to the stage, the champion is completely comfortable with a new life.
“Previously, every day when I woke up, I caught my eyes, practicing, practicing and practicing. My body was completely disintegrated every night, because the exercises had drained my strength,” Khabib said in an interview with Esquire Middle East.
“I just want to live a softer life, so I can sleep a little bit before lunch, so I can live for myself instead of putting 100% of my strength into MMA.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov left the MMA arena as one of the best boxers in the tournament history, if not the leader. He asserted himself “there is no regret on the stage”. However, Khabib broke up with a professional floor does not mean that he stopped practicing MMA.
“I don't practice to play anymore, but I still have relatives, including friends and cousins, they are still professional MMA boxers at the highest level. We are still joining hands to foster 5, 6 excellent MMA boxers. I will help them, practice with them, share experiences for them.”
“In some way, it can be said that I am turning to work as a coach. But I will not completely become a coach, but I am ready to be there and share experiences with friends, younger brother.”
