Born into a family with a tradition of attachment to fields in Ung Hoa district, Hanoi, Nguyen Duc Ngoc suddenly caught the eye of Hanoi Boxing Boxing 7 years ago. Since then, the athlete born in 2002 has started to be charming with Boxing and has 4 years in a row championship nationwide.
However, the road to Ngoc's success is not easy and full of roses. At the age of 20, Ngoc came to the Boxing Championship of the nationwide teams of 2022 with a luggage that was almost impossible to play.
The epidemic of Covid-19 broke out, along with the injury that caused the young puncher of the Hanoi boxing team to temporarily slow down on the path of career development. In addition, the movement of competition in adulthood (19-40) is also very different from when he was playing in young people.
“This is the first time I stepped onto the big playground to play with the elder men,” Nguyen Duc Ngoc shared. “Luckily for me is in the difficult period, I always have 2 teachers in the back support. It is coach Nguyen Viet Hung and Nguyen Viet Cuong in the Hanoi Boxing team.”
At the Boxing Championship of the national strong teams 2022, Ngoc competed in the weight of 71kg. He won convincingly in the outer matches to enter the final against Huynh Tuan Vu, also a young athlete of the rising army. Here, the boxer of the Hanoi team continued to affirm the strength with an overwhelming victory to win the national championship for the first time.
Besides the victory of Nguyen Duc Ngoc, the Hanoi Boxing team also has 2 more gold medals at the age of 19-40 of Pham Cong Hung (class 48kg) and Vu Thanh Trung (75kg class), thereby ranking second in the whole group. With the rising young athletes like Duc Ngoc, Boxing in Hanoi shows that they have great potential for development in the future.
