Conor McGregor broke his leg when playing with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. Since then, he sat outside to recover and recently returned to light training.
Currently, he is practicing at Boxing Crumlin Club in Dublin, Ireland. He started practicing Spar back with familiar footprints after 9 months of work.
McGregor is said to have recovered faster than what the doctor prescribed. He is expected to return to the ring in the summer. However, UFC President Dana White is making careful moves.
“We aim to let McGregor play in early autumn,” Mr. White revealed. “If everything goes in the right direction, UFC will pay attention to McGregor's health. If his legs recover as expected, McGregor will be practiced and played in the early fall.”
Dana White also confirmed that McGregor will fly to Las Vegas to discuss his next opponent in the return day. “Any match with Conor McGregor is worth the money,” White said.
McGregor is said to want to confront Makhachev on the day back to the UFC arena. Islam Makhachev is a close friend of Khabib Nurmagomedov and has recently won the Ao Ao against rival Bobby Green in late February.
Considered to be the most famous MMA boxer in the history of martial arts general world, Conor McGregor played a total of 28 professional matches (22 wins, 6 losses). He lost the last 3/4 times before Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier (2 times).
