The homepage of the Asian Boxing Federation (ASBC) said that ASBC President Pichai Chunhavajira decided to resign as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Boxing Association (IBA). This decision was made after ASBC voted to refuse to join the World Boxing, and continue to stay in the upcoming IBA.
In the letter to ASBC members, Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira said that the purpose of this organization remained unchanged. ASBC wants Boxing to continue to appear at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. However, this opportunity is once again affected by the voting results of ASBC members.
The fact that the majority of ASBC members did not agree with the decision to join the World Boxing, Mr. Pichai was forced to withdraw from IBA. He said this is not easy, but necessary. With the withdrawal of IBA, ASBC chairman will continue to target the Boxing to appear at the Olympic Games, and ASBC is an important part of it.
