In the afternoon of May 15, the Organizing Committee of Boxing Sea Games 31 conducted a technical meeting and a branch drawing of the competition content. Talking with Thethao.vn, one officer said that there were 2 content to be canceled, 69kg and 75kg. These two weight classes cannot take place as expected when each content is only 2 boxers registered to play.
According to the regulations and regulations of the tournament, each weight class must have at least 3 fighters to play. This is what the organizers do not want, especially when the host country of Vietnam has 2 strong boxers in these weight classes. These are athletes Hoang Ngoc Mai (69kg female) and Tran Thi Oanh Nhi (75kg female).
After removing 2 content, Boxing SEA Games 31 has 68 fighters competing in 11 contents of the weight of men and women. 63kg male is the weight of the most participating fighters: 9 people. The content of 91kg male, 48kg female has only 4 boxers participating. That also means that the athletes attend in these two contents certainly have a medal.
