According to the announcement of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), they will organize 2 Olympic qualifying rounds next year. The first round took place in Italy (February 2024), then the 2nd qualifying in Thailand (April 4). The Vietnam Boxing team is expected to attend both qualifiers, with the goal of winning tickets to the final round.
Before Vietnam, a number of countries in Southeast Asia such as Thailand and the Philippines had a player who won tickets to Boxing at the Paris Olympic Games. These are the tickets they won from ASIAD 19, where Boxing also calculated the competition results equivalent to an IOC Olympic qualifying period.
For the Philippines, they had a ticket to the Paris Olympic Games of Eumir Marcial in the weight of 80kg. Meanwhile, Thailand has won 4 tickets from Thitisan Panmot, Chuthamat Raksat, Thananya Somnuek and Janjaem Suwannapheng. Currently Thailand still expects to win 2-4 tickets to the Olympic Games.
The number of participants in the Olympic Games from the qualifying round, as well as the ticket inviting athletes in each weight class of Boxing is announced as follows:

– Grade 57kg male: 7 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Class 63.5kg Men: 9 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Class 71kg Men: 9 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Grade 80kg male: 7 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Grade 92kg male: 8
– Class +92kg Men: 8
– Grade 50kg female: 8 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Grade 54kg female: 8 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– 57kg class: 6 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Class 60kg female: 6 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Class 66kg female: 8 capacity + 1 ticket invitation
– Class 75kg female: 8
With the number of tickets attending the Olympic Games through the qualifying round, Boxing Vietnam is facing great opportunities to continue winning tickets to attend the Olympics. Previously, Boxing Vietnam had 2 tickets attending the Tokyo Olympic Games of athletes Nguyen Van Duong and Nguyen Thi Tam.
