Lion Championship adds new regulations, prohibits boxers using support tools

Today (September 22), the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) announced the addition of new regulations in the Lion Championship 2023 competition rules. In the notice, VMMAF said: “Realizing that in recent events, some athletes with knees and neck bundles during competition to protect individuals from injuries, this has created certain advantages during the process of competition.

Therefore, to ensure fairness for all boxers participating in the competition, VMMAF supplements the regulations: Prohibit athletes wearing pillows and ankle bundle during the competition. “

This provision will be applied for the rest of the Lion Championship 2023 season corresponding to the two events LC10 and LC11.

Earlier at LC09, many boxers both in B and A used a bundle of ankles such as Le Huy Hoang, Pham Thanh Do, Nguyen Thi Hien Luong, Ha Viet Hieu, … In addition, Nguyen Vinh Hieu was a martial artist using a knee. The use of these support tools helps boxers reduce the risk of injury. Therefore, the new rule given by VMMAF is completely reasonable to bring fairness to all athletes attending.

In addition to making a new regulation, the organizers also issued a notice of changing the last event of Lion Championship – LC11. As originally expected, the LC11 event will take place on November 18. However, to ensure professional factors as well as consider according to the plan of international tournaments, the Vietnam Martial Arts Federation delayed the official competition time to December 9.
