IBA paid for food and drink for the World Young Boxing Championships 2024

The World Young Boxing Championship 2024 was held at Budva City Sports Center, the Republic of Montenegro. According to the organization, this year's tournament recorded 593 boxers participating in the competition. A new point in this year's tournament is that the delegations are supported by the majority of competition funds.

The International Boxing Association (IBA) said they paid all the cost of accommodation for athletes to attend the World Young Boxing Championship 2024. Therefore, the participating teams only have to pay air tickets, as well as the accommodation of the 4th coach or more in the team if any.

The payment of funds for delegations to the World Young Boxing Championship 2024 is the latest move of IBA, showing that they want to continue controlling the Olympic level boxing. This unit has publicly criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC), as well as the newly established agency is the World Boxing in the match holding this traditional sport.

The decision to separate IBA and join the World Boxing, or continue to stick with IBA at this time belongs to the Union of Boxing Management of the continent. The African Boxing Federation has publicly supported IBA. Meanwhile, the European Boxing Federation (EUBC) and Asia (ASBC) will decide with the votes of members in the near future.

World Boxing was founded by members who failed in the vote of IBA president in 2022. The World Boxing President Boris van der Vorst, who lost the vote before the current President of IBA, Umar Kremlev. Currently, World Boxing has about 45 members, but most of them still maintain IBA members.
