Over the past week, a number of famous UFC boxers have been removed from the official UFC rankings. Among those names, the former Welterweight UFC Tyron Woodley championship, former Lightweight UFC Al Iaquinta Candidates and finally fighter Featherweight Zabit Magomedsharipov.
After the news of Magomedsharipov was removed from the rankings, Russia's TASS reported that Dagestani was considering completely withdrawing from MMA. More specifically they declared: “With high possibility, Zabit will no longer play.”
TASS's reporter Lazorin then added details to his story related to the retirement of Magomedsharipov. Lazorin wrote on social networks: “I talked to Zabit's close people to see how everything was happening.
They say that it is likely that Zabit will end his career and not fight anymore. He simply waited for too long without a match, no special motivation. Bored of fighting – that's what they say. “
Lazorin added that Magomedsharipov's motivation is due to a long time without playing. Last August, Magomedsharipov was planned to confront Yair Rodriguez in a battle to determine the candidate for Featherweight belt.
However, Rodriguez was forced to withdraw from the war due to a foot injury. In an announcement on Instagram, Magomedsharipov revealed that he would not have a replacement of Rodriguez, on the grounds that UFC lacked martial artists close to him in the rankings.
Zabit Magomedsharipov finally played at UFC Moscow in November 2019. At that, he won the transcript against Calvin Kattar. That victory raised his achievement to 18-1 and extended the series of consecutive victories at his UFC to six matches.
