Although he used to stand on the highest peak of the UFC tournament, Tyron Woodley now has 4 consecutive defeats. After losing the championship belt into the hands of Karuma Usman, the performance of this American boxer slipped without braking.
Since 2019, Woodley has not had a victory. Consecutive fell to the punches under the muscles such as Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington and most recently Vicente Luque.
With the current situation, Woodley is difficult to avoid being cut by UFC. In a recent live interview, Dana White revealed the possibility of firing this former championship:
“The match between Woodley and Luque is the highlight for the event tonight. The young Luque puncher is a rising star. How old is Woodley? 39 then. With 4 consecutive losses. About being cut contracts, it is possible.”
With the answer above, perhaps UFC is giving Woodley the opportunity to declare retired instead of this puncher. With the reputation of a former UFC king, Woodley can easily receive an invitation from other tournaments like Bellator or One Championship.
It is fair to say Woodley has done very well in the last match against Vicente Luque. He actively attacked and had dangerous pressure. Unfortunately, due to too impatient, Woodley was counter -attack and received defeat by tightening.
