Will Jan Blachowicz step up Heavyweight like Jon Jones?

After the victory over Israel Adesanya, Jan Blachowicz will most likely have to defend the title of the championship before the veteran puncher Glover Teixeira in the near future. This Polish puncher is confident to overcome Teixeira in all aspects. Glover Teixeira currently has 5 consecutive victories, including 3 victories with lock and 1 victory by TKO. This will be the second time Teixeira has participated in a belt match since 2014.

“Teixeira is strong in the boxing segment, but he often knocks the opponent whenever he approaches. In this match, I will be the one who plays Striking, and Teixeira wants to rush into the fall.” Blachowicz mentioned on Just Scrap Radio.

“In addition, my Jiu-Jitsu level is much stronger than Teixeira. So even if he has fallen, it is impossible to squeeze the lock easily. I can see that I am stronger than this Brazilian boxer in all aspects.”

The time of the Bluchowicz vs. Teixeira has not been announced, but it is likely that it will take place in November or December 2021, because Bluchowicz is currently looking to spend more time with his wife and a newborn child.

In addition, Blachowicz also plans to follow Jon Jones to rank Heavyweight if it successfully defends the title of championship at Light Heavyweight.

“Perhaps after 2 or 3 times of defending the throne, UFC will ask me to have a belt match in Heavweight. However, now I have to focus on reality, and the future is very difficult to say first.” Blachowicz said.
