On April 23, Dinh Hong Quan became the first Vietnamese boxer to win a Boxing Championship of the International Boxing Federation (IBF). He won the point in the match lasting 10 rounds with boxer Delmar Pellio of the Philippines. It was the match that completely controlled the game and won with a big gap in the score.
Before Dinh Hong Quan, Vietnam had a number of other boxers who won the Boxing Championship when trying his best in the professional arena. The first person to do this was boxer Tran Van Thao. In 2017, Mr. Thuong Dai competed with George Lumoly (Indonesia) to compete for the WBC Asia belt Super Flyweight and won.
Following the success of Tran Van Thao, in 2019, boxer Truong Dinh Hoang stepped onto the professional boxing floor. He won TKO in the first match, thereby entering the WBA East Asia Battle with Korean opponent Lee Gyu Hyun and won. 4 months later, Truong Dinh Hoang went to the Philippines to conquer the Asian WBA belt and success.
At the same time, Truong Dinh Hoang took the bell to fight the land of people, boxer Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi became the first Vietnamese women's boxing athlete to win a professional championship. On February 29, 2020, she defeated Kanyarat Yoohanngoh right in Cambodia to become the owner of the Women's Women's Women -Women Women's Worlds.
In October 2021, Thu Nhi once again made fans mention her name. Thuong Dai Tranh World World Belt, met rival Etsuko Tada (Japan) and continued to win close to the point. That victory helped Thu Nhi become the first Vietnamese boxer to win the world.
Entering 2022, Vietnam has two more Boxing champions Le Huu Toan (WBA Asian champion) and Dinh Hong Quan (IBF Asia Championship). Their consecutive victories are the premise to help Boxing Vietnam further go further in the international arena, thereby facing the opportunity to challenge boxers from powers like Thailand or the Philippines.
