In a recent interview, Dana White was asked which names he would choose for UFC's Rushmore Mountain. Simply put, Rushmore Mountain is a place of the United States carving of the 4 presidents with the largest merit. Therefore, it can be said that the four fighters that Dana White chose were the 4 greatest boxers in his view.
The first name that UFC president said was Royce Gracie, the first champion in the history of the tournament and was the popular BJJ in the US.
Talking about Gracie, White said: “I mean if you talk about Rushmore Mountain, where their heads are engraved into rocks forever, you must mention Royce Gracie, this is obvious, you have to do that.”
The second is the female champion of the two -class weighing Amanda Nunes. White affirmed:
“Amanda Nunes, it must be Amanda Nunes. She is the greatest female martial artist ever.”
The third person on White's Rushmore mountain is Jon 'Bones' Jones, the controversial king of the Light Heavyweight weighting class for nearly 10 consecutive years.
“I will have to choose Jon Jones. He has never been overwhelmed by anyone on the stage.”
Finally but no less important, White sent a compliment to the legendary Chuck Liddell, affirming: “At that time, he was the biggest star ever.”
Surprisingly, he did not name people like Conor McGregor or Khabib Nurmagomedov. Perhaps they are not “great” for him to put in his top 4.
