Last night (August 20), Boxing Lead: Battle of Power event took place at Saigon Sport Center, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Vo Hong Dat puncher surpassed the fighter from the Philippines-Emie Sanchez after 12 rounds with scores 117-111, 118-110, 118-110. This is the first professional boxing struggle in the career of the boxer from Binh Duong.
Sharing after the match, Vo Hong Dat said: “This is a big turning point in my career, helping me to be more confident on the journey ahead.”
“To prepare for this match, I had to practice with extremely harsh exercises. I had to squeeze 9kg within 2 weeks to ensure the weight of the competition. Every time I practice, I just want to cry, so I won this achievement that made me bursting with my emotions and very proud of myself.”, Hong Dat said.
In addition to becoming the owner of the WBA Asia belt, Vo Hong Dat continues to extend the achievement of Toan Thang on his professional boxing arena to the number 6. This is a respectable achievement for a Vietnamese boxer. Talking about this achievement, he shared:
“I also could not say that I will keep this achievement. There will be matches that I have prepared well but the stronger opponent can not win forever. I just try my best, and win or lose is common in sports.”
In addition to Vo Hong Dat, another Vietnamese boxer won the WBC Asia last night Trinh The Long. The Long's opponent is Chayanon Phothijun from Thailand. After 7 rounds, Chayanon could not continue playing due to shoulder injury. This victory helped Trinh The Long's achievement to the number 5 including 4 knock-out wins.
