At the Asian Youth Boxing 2022 held in Jordan, the Vietnam Boxing team participated in 5 young female boxers. The list of squads led by coach Pham Thanh Hai includes Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran and Tran Thanh Tuyen (Can Tho); Hoang Ngoc Phuong Trinh (Thai Nguyen); Tran Thi Truc Han (Tien Giang); Pham Thi Quynh Anh (Tien Giang).
At the end of the tournament, the Vietnamese team ranked 15th when owning a bronze medal thanks to the work of boxer Tran Thanh Tuyen. The Boxer of the Can Tho team stopped in the semi -finals of 66kg weight in front of the Kazakhstan athletes, Aruzhan Zhangabayeva. The difference in qualifications caused Thanh Tuyen to be tried to lose the technical knock-out in the second half.
The Boxing Uzbekistan team ranked first with a total of 23 medals, including 11 gold medals, 6 gold medals and 6 bronze medals. India ranked second with 8 gold medals, 7 gold medals and 6 bronze medals. Kazakhstan ranked 3rd with 6 gold medals. The Thai boxing team is the representative of Southeast Asia with the highest ranking when ranked 4th in the rankings (1 gold medal, 2 bronze medals). They are also the only Southeast Asian country with gold medals.
The Asian Boxing Award takes place from February 27 and has just closed on March 15. The tournament in 2 age groups U16 (including athletes 15 to 16 years old) and U18 (including athletes 17 to 18 years old). This is considered an important tournament for young female fighters of Vietnam to rub and improve competition experience.
2022 is a busy year of Boxing Vietnam. After the end of the Boxing Championship of the Youth and Asian Children, coach Pham Thanh Hai will return to Can Tho delegation to attend the Boxing Championship of the national strong teams in 2022 in Tien Giang.
