For Nguyen Thi Tam, 2022 was a successful year for boxers born in 1994. She won the gold medal in the expanded Thai Boxing Championship, then successfully defended the SEA Games gold medal at home. Tam is also the first Vietnamese athlete to do this in the history of Boxing in the SEA Games ever.
In the past, Nguyen Thi Tam and Nguyen Thi Huong were the female athletes with the most international experience of Boxing high performance in Vietnam. At the 2019 Boxing Championship, Nguyen Thi Huong won bronze medal, while Nguyen Thi Tam reached the semi -finals.
After the Asian Boxing Championship, Nguyen Thi Tam and Nguyen Thi Huong also had another important tournament in 2022 as the national sports festival.
