On March 1, the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) sent a document to the Department of Sports and Sports and the stakeholders about the time of the Boxing Team of strong teams nationwide 2023. In this document, VBF pointed out 3 reasons why they decided to reverse the tournament in November, instead of organizing in April as initially expected.
– Firstly, VBF sent a proposal to change the time to organize to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak Province (the locality hosted the tournament) and was approved in terms of text.
– Secondly, VBF prepares to organize the Confederation Congress for the 2nd term. Within the framework of the Congress, VBF will conduct the election of the Executive Committee for the new term, as well as the new Chairman for Mr. Tran Minh Tien.
– Third, the 32nd SEA Games will take place in May. At the moment, the members of the National Boxing team have gathered, preparing for the world championship, as well as the SEA Games.
In the context of national players who are practicing and playing internationally, it is likely that they will not attend, or compete in the highest performance if they participate in the Boxing tournament of strong teams nationwide 2023 in April. Drilling the tournament to November is reasonable according to practical conditions, as well as ensuring the expertise.
The current members of the Vietnam Boxing team are selected based on the achievement of the National Sports Festival 2022. The list of summoning the team has existed after the conference closed, and the members began to focus on February 1. In the near future, the members of the women's team will set out to India to attend the world championship.
Earlier in 2022, the Boxing Championship of strong national teams took place in late March in Tien Giang province. However, members of the national boxing team do not play this tournament. They set out to attend the expanded Thailand Boxing Prize, then stayed abroad to practice before going back to the 31st SEA Games.
