According to the initial schedule, the Asian Boxing Championship 2023 took place from July 13 to July 30 in Astana City, Kazakhstan. This is one of the major tournaments of Asian Boxing this year, with the purpose of creating more playgrounds and competitive environment for talented young boxers.
However, in the context of handling work related to the incident of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) depriving the right to organize the high -achievement boxing boxing of the International Boxing Association (IBA), the Asian Boxing Federation (ASBC) decided to postpone indefinitely all tournaments in 2023 organized by this agency. The Asian Young Boxing Championship is also among them.
In the latest development, the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) has officially confirmed the information of the Asian Boxing Championship 2023 must postpone indefinitely. This agency announced on the homepage with the following content:
“According to the international competition plan, the General Department of Sports and Sports issued a written request to VBF to register for 8 athletes according to the list at the Asian Boxing Championship. The entire cost will be equal to 100%state budget.
In addition to the above announcement, VBF also includes the expected list of the young boxing team in Vietnam to attend the Asian Youth Boxing Championship 2023. This list includes 1 coach and 8 athletes, competing in 2 ages 15-16 and 17-18.
