UFC ends the contract with the former K1 Alistair Overeem

Before playing at UFC, Alistair Overeem was famous for its achievements in winning the MMA Strikeforce and Dream. Not only that, he also has a relatively successful kickboxing career.

Over 10 years of competition at UFC, Overeem has achieved 12-8 achievements. Although he has never touched the championship, he is still known by many people with a kickboxing style. He has defeated big names like Brock Lesnar, Junior Dos Santos and Andrei Arlovski.

His most recent opponent is the former champion of Bellator, Alexander Volkov at UFC Vegas 18. He had previously won two consecutive victories when he compared to Walt Harris and Augusto Sakai.

Unfortunately, due to the old age and the appearance of many emerging talents, Overeem was released the contract. Of course, he was not the only name that was released over the past months, more specifically, UFC President Dana White said that at the end of last year, there would be 60 fighters to finish the contract.

Despite the recent defeat against Volkov, Overeem claimed that he would continue to play after his body rested. His next move is still unknown.

In any case, his next tournament will not be Bellator MMA. The reason is that Mr. Scott Coker (the current president of Bellator MMA, once a Strikeforce president) said that he did not want to change the heavy boxer squad.
