On September 16, after the match between the two boxers Tran Van An (Hanoi) and Dinh Van Thi (Da Nang) closed, the Da Nang delegation made an application for re -examination and re -mark the results. On that basis, the Organizing Committee marked the match at 9am on September 17 at the multi -purpose stadium of Can Tho City.
The dot was postponed for a few minutes, by the two coaches of the Hanoi boxing team wrongly the place of re -examination. Instead of going to the multi -purpose gymnasium in Can Tho City, the two coaches went to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the City, which was 2km from the stadium. This is a rather rare incident at domestic boxing tournaments.
In order to make a re -marking, the organizers selected the referees with the criteria: not on duty in the previous match between Tran Van An and Dinh Van Thi, and not the referee of Hanoi and Da Nang units. According to this criterion, 9 arbitrators were chosen to re -mark the results.
With 9 votes that emit and collect valid results, all 9 referees graded with the victory of Tran Van An. The match results were kept, and the fighter of the Hanoi delegation was officially named in the final. In the final match of the tournament, Van An continued to win.
The opponent of Tran Van An in the final of the 54kg weight class is Bui Duc Loc (Hai Phong). Before a boxer did not have much experience, Tran Van An was completely overwhelming in the first half. At the end of the first half, the Hai Phong Team coach took the initiative to stop the match, through which Van An officially defended the championship.
