The World Boxing Championship 2025 sets the venue

In 2024, the International Boxing Association (IBA) was initially expected to only organize the World Women's Boxing Championship, no award for men. The venue for the tournament is Astana, Kazakhstan. The tournament was planned to take place on September 30, and ended on October 10.

But in the context of the world boxing there are some changes, IBA has decided to adjust the schedule. Accordingly, the World Women's Boxing Championship will not be organized. IBA will only conduct the tournament in March 2025. The chosen destination is the Belgrade city of Serbia.

“The boxers who spent 2024 were busy. Therefore, after listening to the opinions from the stakeholders, we decided to move the tournament to 2025. This gives athletes to have more opportunities to achieve good results, accompany with the small bonus,” IBA Secretary General said.

Besides the World Women's Boxing Championship, IBA also organized the World Boxing Championship in May 2025. Initially, they said the city host was Astana, Kazakhstan. But after that, IBA made correction information, saying that the country has not been decided.

At the present time, IBA has been deprived of the Olympic Boxing Olympic Committee (IOC). However, the reputation of IBA is still very large, and they are still receiving support from 150 member countries. That helps IBA continue to maintain influence in Europe, Asia and Africa.

On the basis of existing influence, IBA continues to organize tournaments under the world and continent. Arbitration training courses, Boxing coaches are highly recorded by IBA still appear in many countries, maintaining the number of coaches, referees and athletes they trained annually.
