Shortly after the National Sports Festival ended, the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) announced the plan to organize national championships in 2023. According to this plan, Boxing Vietnam in the coming year will have 3 tournaments in the high achievement system, similar to the previous years.
3 tournaments planned by VBF are the Boxing Championships of the National Teams nationwide 2023 (Cup tournament), the National Boxing Championship nationwide 2023 and the Boxing Championship of Men – Women nationwide 2023 (National Championship). The time for the tournament was also set in March, July and 10 of the next year.
Different from the initial information, the Boxing Championship of the national teams nationwide 2023 will take place in Dak Lak instead of Quang Ngai as some initial information. This is a place that used to take place the 2022 young boxing championship with many professional marks, as well as the organization of the host unit.
Besides domestic tournaments, Boxing Vietnam in 2023 will fight in a series of international arenas. It is expected that Vietnamese athletes will compete in at least 4 prizes, namely 32 SEA Games, Asian Games 2022 (ASIAD), Asian Indoor Games 2023 and the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier.
In the international scope, members of the Vietnam Women's Boxing team are expected to make a mark. In the last 31st SEA Games, all three gold medals of Boxing Vietnam came from the weak: Nguyen Thi Tam, Vuong Thi Vy and Tran Thi Linh.
