In 2013, Boxing Vietnam unexpectedly had a leading expert coming to Vietnam to work. It was Tawan Mungphingklang, one of the most experienced coaches of Thailand boxing. To get this expert, Boxing Vietnam chose Tawan's time to break up with the Thai boxing team to give an invitation.
During his working time in Vietnam, Tawan Mungphingklang helped the boxing teams achieve many brilliant achievements. The peak of the time when Tawan was attached to Boxing Vietnam was the 2017 Asian Championship of boxer Nguyen Thi Tam, also the first continental gold medal in Vietnam.
Tawan coach is also loved by many Vietnamese boxers because of the dedication at work, and at the same time understands each athlete he used to work with. In the last year of working in Vietnam, he contributed to the boxing team to have 2 tickets for the Olympic Tokyo Olympic Games of Nguyen Thi Tam and Nguyen Van Duong.
The extensive relationship of coach Tawan with Boxing Thailand also helps the Vietnamese team always have the opportunity to practice and play well on the trip abroad. Whenever training in Thailand, Vietnam Boxing team members often fight with Thai and Philippines players, through which they understand each other better.
In early 2022, coach Tawan Mungphingklang returned home to return to work in the Thai team. In the last SEA Games, Thailand Boxing reached 11/16 finals, winning 9 gold medals. This achievement helps them win the top position convincingly, in the context of the Thai boxing still sends another team to the world championship.
