In the list of expected summons of the National Boxing team members in 2024 of the Department of Sports, athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Hao (Ho Chi Minh City) has no name. She is the defending national champion of 57kg women's weight, which is also a weight in the Paris Olympic competition program next year.
At the National Boxing Championship 2023, Thanh Hao met Huyen Tran in the final and won. This is a perfect match against Huyen Tran in the first half, and won the remaining 2 rounds to win the final.
In the opposite direction, the person who lost Thanh Hao in the final was Nguyen Huyen Tran (Tien Giang) was on the recruitment. On that basis, the Vietnam Boxing Federation has proposed to the Department of Physical Training and Sports about adjusting the list. Accordingly, Thanh Hao will be summoned and practiced in Hanoi.
However, the official list of the national female boxing team still has no name of Thanh Hao. Her name does not appear in both teams in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In contrast, Huyen Tran still has the name as the original proposed list.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Hao was born in 2000, a member of the Ho Chi Minh City boxing team. She has won the Vietnam Sports Festival 2022, HCV Boxing for strong teams nationwide 2023, HCV Boxing nationwide 2023. Last year, Thanh Hao was called to the national team to compete in the Women's Boxing Championship in the 57kg weight class.
At the World Women's Boxing Championship 2023, Thanh Hao passed the first round. She received defeat in the 1/8 round against Irma Testa (Italy), the boxer then won the championship. But in ASIAD 19, Thanh Hao was replaced by Nguyen Huyen Tran, who lost to Mizhgona Samadova (Tajikistan) in the first match.
