The lawsuit against the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was sent to the US, Switzerland and France by the International Boxing Association (IOC) and France was unexpectedly supported by many athletes. One of them is Ebanie Bridges. This is the Australian female boxer, once holding the World IBF championship in the Bantamweight weight class.
“There is a lot of conflicting information about the case of two female boxers with a male chromosome played at the Paris Olympic Games. However, I think they should be banned by the organizers competing for female boxing,” Ebanie Bridges shared with the Daily Mail Australia. According to her, this is necessary to protect female athletes.
In case Ioc wants fighters like Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting to continue to compete, from the view of Ebanie Bridges, other female boxers must use doping to fight them. However, this will bring many other consequences, so the athletes mentioned above need to be banned.
“I am happy that many people have asked to clearly delinge the gender of the male and female athletes in the high -performance sports competition. This is necessary to protect the female athletes. The fact that if there are cases like the past time, women will not be able to overcome male colleagues to win,” Ebanie Bridges said.
IMane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting were once disqualified before the final of the World Women's Boxing Championship 2023. Not long after that, IBA said they banned these two boxers competing for discovering they had a male chromosome. IBA only disclosed documents when IOC officially allowed Khelif and Lin Yu Ting to compete at the Paris Olympic Games.
