Initially, this tournament was scheduled to be held in April, but VBF wanted to reverse the calendar to consolidate the organization, as well as spend time with the national team.
Earlier in 2022, the Boxing Championship of strong national teams took place in late March in Tien Giang province. However, members of the national boxing team do not play this tournament. They set out to attend the expanded Thailand Boxing Prize, then stayed abroad to practice before going back to the 31st SEA Games.
The concentration and competition schedule of the national team is not related to the Boxing Championship of the national teams nationwide 2022 may be one of the reasons why VBF decided to reverse the tournament schedule. However, Boxing and Kickboxing (Department of Sports) seem to disagree with the request from VBF. They resolutely suggested that the Boxing Championships of the Nation 2023 strong teams in April as usual. In case VBF does not organize the tournament, the subject will organize itself.
In fact, the right to organize the current national championship boxing belongs to VBF. Boxing of the National Sports Festival 2022 is a rare tournament organized by Boxing and Kickboxing (Department of Sports) without many key officials of VBF. Therefore, this tournament does not live live to the audience, as well as appearing many matches with “strange” results.
On the last day of competition to compete for gold, Boxing of the National Sports Festival 2022 has 9/27 matches, equivalent to 1/3 of the competition program, canceled by the boxers to withdraw. The reason is given by the delegations by some cases of injury, or the pair is too different, so the unit decided to withdraw to protect the boxer. Many matches in the semi -finals also ended with controversial results.
