In a press conference after the UFC 260 event, UFC President Dana White shared that UFC is planning to organize UFC 264 back to Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. White hoped everything was favorable and also said the tournament was planned for the Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor 3 to become the focus of UFC 264.
Many years since the first confrontation, Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor had a rematch in January on the island of Fight Island, Abu Dhabi. In this match, Poirier “revenge” successfully, winning TKO against the former Champion of 2 weight classes Conor.
After UFC 257, both athletes expressed that they were willing to match the third gloves and UFC also affirmed they would create opportunities for both. Dana White also said that if Conor McGregor or Dustin Poirier for any reason could not play, Justin Gaethje would be chosen to replace one of the two fighters.
Currently, the match as well as Fight Card of UFC 264 has not been officially announced. However, it can be sure that Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor 3 will not be a Lightweight belt battle. The weighing championship belt will become the reward for the match between Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler in the UFC 262 event.
