Should it be proposed to ban the horizontal kicks?

At UFC Vegas 36, Light Heavyweight Khalil Rountree fighters made the audience cold with the side kick, kicking the thigh right above the knee of the opponent Modestas Bukauskas. Bukaukas immediately fell in pain and was transferred to first aid, while Khalil Rountree celebrated the victory of TKO.

The doctors present on the stage declared Bukaukas suffered serious knee injuries. The MMA Medlife page reported that Rountree's pedal caused Bukaukas to be torn in part of the knee (MCL), the anterior diagonal ligament (ACL), and damage to the back ligament (PCL). Bukaukas's tea cake bones also cracked after a horrific kick.

This is the first time UFC has a technical knockout victory caused by the Side Kick or Olique Kick, but this is not a new kick on the MMA floor. In the past, the former champion Jon Jones once made many opponents “terrible” by the kicking of this pillow.

“I was not prepared for this kick, nor did I plan to use it during the training process,” Khalil Rountree admitted after the match. “I know this is a dangerous kick and I don't want my friend to get injured.”

“I just realized the chance to hit the kick when Bukaukas put the whole body's mind on his front leg every time he hit Jab. That's why I made it.”

Another behind -the -scenes video showed that Khalil Rountree approached the Modestas Bukauskas lying on the stretcher, wishing the opponent “recover soon” and Rountree also believed that Bukauskas “would soon return”.

However, the response of the majority of the audience after a knee is quite negative. Coach Henri Hooft, the teacher of Kickboxing monuments like Peter Aerts and Tyrone Spong, rated this as an injury that could cause Modestas Bukauskas to stop martial arts.
