Jairzinho Rozenstruik defeated Augusto Sakai when there was only one second in the first half of the match on Sunday at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“As soon as I heard the clock 10 seconds – Tock, Tock, Tock – I deceived him with a punch on the right, punching him with his left hand and then another right shot,” Rozenstruik said about his match in the rear match interview.
Rozenstruik, who came from Suriname, also achieved a similar TKO victory against Alistair Overeem in December 2019. More specifically, he won the fifth half of the fifth half, right before the bell.
Rozenstruik (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) currently has six wins at UFC, all of them with Knockout or TKO. Rozenstruik has a total of 16 targets in the half, while Brazilian boxers Augusto Sakai (15-3-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) only launched 3 targets.
In Undercard matches, Poland's heavy fighters Marcin Tybura defeated Walt Harris, also equal to TKO in the first half. Tybura has launched a total of 59 attacks, ending the competition after 4 minutes 6 seconds.
In other developments, Georgia's Roman Dolidze defeated Argentina's Laireano Staropoli by deciding to unite in their mid-range match, with a transcript of 30-27.
Santiago Ponzinibbio, also representing Argentina, won the decision to agree against Miguel Baeza in their Welterweight weight match, with the final transcript of 29-28.
The boxer from Brazil Gregory Rodrigues defeated Serbia's Dusko Today's Dusko Today with a consensus decision in their medium match. Montana de La Rosa won against Ariane Lipski with TKO at 4:27 of the second half in the Flyweight's weight match.
