The idea of a match between MMA and Boxing is nothing new. It was planned before the Conor McGregor entered the UFC tournament but so far it has not become a reality. Since 2015, Boxer Roy Jones and former Middleweight Anderson Silva have considered confrontation on the boxing floor.
Unfortunately, this match was prevented by the UFC organizers. UFC President Dana White himself rejected this combination. Currently, Silva no longer has any constraints with UFC. This Brazilian boxer can play anywhere, whether MMA or Boxing.
After the end of the match with Mike Tyson last year, Jones mentioned Silva while interviewing with TMZ:
“The next match I am most looking forward to with Anderson Silva. Currently he is a free fighter and me too. Why not let me and Silva have a dedicated match for the audience?”
In terms of boxing technology and experience, Jones appreciated Silva than McGregor – UFC superstar used to be popular with the billion -dollar match with Floyd Mayweather. Simply because this Brazilian boxer has played twice in the professional boxing stage before participating in the UFC tournament. Meanwhile McGregor has never played professional boxing once and has clashed with “Lonely Bridge” Mayweather.
“Anderson Silva has a better performance of boxing competition than those like Conor McGregor. Silva understands how professional boxing is because he played on the previous boxing floor,” Jones added.
