The emerging name in UFC – Islam Makhachev – once again demanded to challenge former King Rafael Dos Anjos to find a way to enter the top 10 top Lightweight fighters. Both boxers should have met at UFC 254 and UFC Fight Night event last November last year. Unfortunately, both times are postponed for various reasons.
Later, Dos Anjos was forced to compete with the replacement boxer – Paul Felder. And Makhachev has only returned to the recent stage at UFC 259 and won the lock in the 3rd half against the unexpected opponent Drew Dober.
To quickly go to the title of the championship, Makhachev needs a victory against the boxers in the top 10 UFC. And Rafael Dos Anjos is the target object.
Of course, Dos Anjos happily accepted this challenge, but comes with the condition that the right to rematch with the “Russian eagle” Khabib Nurmagomedov if he won against Makhachev. On his personal Twitter, DoS Anjos wrote: “If Khabib agreed to rematch after I defeated Makhachev, then fight.”
In 2014, Rafael Dos Anjos faced Nurmagomedov and received defeat by calculating the point after 3 rounds. However, this Brazilian punch has returned with 4 consecutive victories and won the championship after the match against Anthony Pettis.
The battle of anjos vs. Makhachev is likely to be arranged by UFC in the near future. However, whether Dos Anjos won the opportunity to revenge against Khabib is still a mystery.
