Just a few days after the information receiving $ 50 million new investment from Qatar, ONE Championship has surprised with their new personnel plan. Group One Holdings, the parent company owns One Championship, admitted that they just fired “dozens of employees” at the end of 2024.
According to ONE Championship's LinkedIn account, their personnel scale is about 200-500 people. One has a number of representative offices in Asia, as well as big cities like Los Angeles, New York, London and Milan. Thus, the number of employees being fired by One Championship is equivalent to 10% of personnel.
“We have to make difficult decisions, when firing a few dozen employees in the fourth Wednesday. This is part of a strategic overall plan, in order to bring the profitable company in the coming months,” a spokesman for One Championship said.
The decision to dismiss the One Championship staff was also confirmed by Chatri President Sityodong, in the email he sent to all the company employees. According to the sharing from ONE, the tournament is recognizing unprecedented revenue and business efficiency.
At the present time, One Championship is valued at US $ 1.35 billion. But with the tournament, 10% of current personnel firmly fired, on the grounds that “beautifying the financial statements”, it can be seen that the development prospect of One is not really clear in the near future.
