As the last boxer of the Vietnamese women's boxing team to play, Nguyen Thi Tam competed in a weight of 50kg. Her opponent in the first round was Nazym Kyzaibay. Kazakhstan boxer was one of the leading seeds in this tournament. She had twice won the world championship.
On the side of Nguyen Thi Tam, although not ranked seeds at the World Championship Boxing 2023, Vietnamese puncher is still considered as one of the top candidates for the championship. That was shown by the 29 -year -old boxer in the match with Nazym Kyzaibay, when she took the initiative in most of the competition.
With the advantage of height and long arms, Nguyen Thi Tam chose a long -range fight when confronted with Nazym Kyzaibay. In the case of Kazakhstan boxers close, Vietnamese boxers immediately given the opponent the opportunity to attack. In the opposite direction, Nguyen Thi Tam still played to eat to take shredded with the opponent, thereby having another victory.
At the end of 3 rounds, Nguyen Thi Tam won with a score of 5-0 (30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 29-28). This result helps Vietnamese martial artists in the next round, and affirms the level of one of the world's top punchers at the present time.
Also on March 19, Vietnam also had another boxer on the field, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hao. Competition in the weight class 57kg, Thanh Hao surpassed Mnguni Sbusisiwe (South Africa). This was a tense match when the two fighters were drawn after the first 2 rounds, and Thanh Hao had to go to the victory in the final match.
