Nguyen Thi Tam meets the old general in the final of Boxing SEA Games 31

On May 22, Boxing at the 31st SEA Games closed with 11 finals in men and women's weight classes. In the 51kg weight class, boxer Nguyen Thi Tam entered the match to protect the SEA Games championship. Her opponent is Irish Magno, boxer from the Philippines.

Interestingly, 3 years ago in the Philippines, Nguyen Thi Tam surpassed Magno itself to win the SEA Games 30 gold medal. Previously in the Thai Boxing Tournament expanded 2022, Magno played in the 54kg weight class. She lost to another Vietnamese fighter in the quarterfinals of Vo Thi Kim Anh.

At the 31st SEA Games, Nguyen Thi Tam continued to play in the weight of 51kg women's forte. She repeatedly won the gap in the outer round to enter the final match. Besides Nguyen Thi Tam, the Vietnamese women's boxing also has 3 other representatives playing in the final, Trinh Thi Diem Kieu, Vuong Thi Vy and Tran Thi Linh.

On the side of Irish Magno, the Philippine boxer seemed to have a predestined relationship when confronted with Vietnamese representatives. At the 2019 Thailand tournament, it took place right before the 30th SEA Games, she also lost to Nguyen Thi Tam. At the 28th SEA Games, she lost to Nguyen Thi Yen in the final.
