As one of the rare martial arts of the Olympic competition program, Boxing is practiced by many people thanks to the traditional thickness, as well as modern breath. The movement of training and playing boxing in Vietnam has been developing recently, and Ho Chi Minh City has always been one of the leading localities.
According to the Organizing Committee's information, the Ho Chi Minh City Boxing Championship 2023 has the participation of 157 athletes (95 men, 62 women). These boxers come from 16 units in the districts and Thu Duc city of Ho Chi Minh City. They participated in competition in 26 antagonists of men and women.
The Boxing Championship of Ho Chi Minh City 2023 takes place from August 19 to August 23, 2023 at the Stadium, Cultural – Sports Center of Tan Binh District. In all days of competition, the Organizing Committee proceeded to open the freedom to welcome fans to watch. This helps the audience to approach and learn about boxing directly.
Through the Ho Chi Minh City Boxing Championship 2023, experts and coaches will have the evaluation and selection of promising athletes. On that basis, Boxing Ho Chi Minh City will add athletes to the city's teams, thereby preparing forces to participate in national and international tournaments.
With some fighters of Ho Chi Minh City, this tournament can be considered as a preparation for ASIAD 19 held in Hangzhou, China, as well as the Paris Olympic Games 2024. This is also a playground to help Boxing Ho Chi Minh City to consolidate the organization, and apply the scoring system under the International Law of IBA.
At the Boxing Championship of Ho Chi Minh City 2023, the matches were scored by the referee according to the computer system of the International Boxing Association (IBA). This helps to publicize and transparent the grading, thereby creating a fair and objective environment for boxers to participate in the competition.
