July 22 is the last competition of the National Boxing Championship 2023, with the finals ages 17-18. The first pair of today took place between two boxers Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (the army) and Nguyen Thi Thu (Hanoi) in the weight of 45kg. Hong Nhung is the only army boxer to play for women today.
The advantage of bodybuilding and height has helped Hong Nhung soon play over Nguyen Thi Thu. Although the opponent played with a stronger attack pace at the end of the match, the female army fighter still preserved the victory with the score after 3 rounds. This is a very convincing victory of young female boxers of the army.
With the gold medal in the National Boxing Championship of 2023, Hong Nhung won 5 consecutive youth awards. This is a launch pad to help 18 -year -old girl more confident to confront her big sisters next year. The last tournament in the age of 17-18 Hong Nhung can also attend as the National Boxing Championship 2023 held later this year.
On the sidelines of national boxing tournaments, many coaches compared Hong Nhung with Diem Kieu. However, the girl born in 2005 will have to try a lot to move on on the path of the senior. Diem Kieu is like one of the rare female boxers of Boxing Vietnam, when playing peak more than 10 years.
Currently, Diem Kieu is the coach in the army boxing team. She quit playing after the National Sports Festival 2022. It was the Diem Kieu tournament to the championship after defeating the former World World Championship Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi in the semi -final of 49kg women's weight.
