After the monumental debut in the match against Dan Hooker, Michael Chandler was favored by UFC to empower the championship at UFC 262 against boxer Charles Oliveira with only one victory in this tournament. Although the big match is about to take place, Chandler has always “Poirier” on social networks and has never mentioned Superstar Conor McGregor.
Explaining this issue former champion Bellator MMA Chandler shared:
“Conor has never said badly, not even mentioning my name. Poirier often takes me on social networks. I ignored it, everyone has the right to speak the opinion.
“Dustin Poirier is about to have an important gloves right before his eyes. The third rematch against Conor McGregor is to be said to be the biggest match in his career. And this is important to do the focus on the UFC title with Charles Oliveira,” Chandler added.
The Lightweight UFC championship event between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira will take place on May 15 at UFC 262.
It seems the winner in the Poirier vs. McGregor will be the character that the organizers awarded the ticket to win the next championship title. Therefore, despite focusing on the match against Olivera, Chandler still had to prepare mentally for new opponents in the future and Poirier certainly among them.
