With the third match of Conor McGregor confronting Dustin Poirier in July confirmed, the Irish puncher proposed to request UFC last week to create a 'McGregor champion' – McGregor Belt for the match.
Chandler, who will confront Charles Oliveira for the drum of light belt at UFC 262, recently shared that he loves this idea.
“I like it,” Chandler talked about 'McGregor Belt'. “Conor is true. Listen, you can say what you want to go to Conor but this guy is the largest antagonistic sport icon on the planet. Not only right now, he is always the number one, and will continue to be in this position in the near future.
Conor McGregor wants the “McGregor Belt” championship with the most luxurious design possible, similar to the watches of the Swedish Swedish watch manufacturing company Patek Philippe.
“I like to add a rare belt like a Patek watch or anything he said in my collection. I want the Radio Conor McGregor sooner or later, as long as I retired before. So we would see if this happened after I defeated Charles Oliveira.”
“I am not sure if people really make such a belt but I think it is a great idea. I really like the prospect of Conor to defeat Dustin Poirier, then I bet my championship and Conor bet the McGregor championship in November or December.”
This will not be the first time UFC has created a special belt. This tournament once created the 'BMF' title for Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz at UFC 244 in November 2019.
