There have been many martial arts players who want to be a professional boxer, competing in many major prizes in the world. However, to achieve this, the boxers must go through small tournaments and Martin Nguyen is no exception.
At the age of 21, Martin Nguyen signed a contract with the Brace MMA in Sydney, Australia.
“There is a tournament called Brace MMA in Sydney and the Featherweight champion, I remember Nick Honstein, he moved to the United States and could not defend the title of the championship. So we (Martin and another boxer) were arranged to compete to compete for the host belt,” Martin Nguyen recounted in Podcast with MMA Sucka.
“The opponent that Nick Honstein should have fought – Luke Standing – is a prominent name of the tournament and has been chosen twice to fight the champion. But both times have not happened.”
“So when they arranged Luke to fight me, he had a record of 4 or 5-0, while I was only 2-0, but I still agreed.
One thing that Martin Nguyen did not know was that Brace MMA agreed with One championship And the winner will become the boxer of One.
“I did not know that Brace signed an agreement to associate with One Championship and the winner in that match … No one knew the winner of that match would receive a contract.
“I ended that match in the first half and was given a contract with One.”
On April 14, the former Vietnamese champion will face Korean boxers Kim Jae Woong. The fans are very hoping Martin will soon regain the victory to be able to rematch with Thanh Le.
