List of UFC weight classes

Of all antagonistic sports, people must be divided into several weight classes to ensure fairness and safety for boxers, because the weight is a variable that greatly affects the force of the attack.

UFC is very strict about the weight of the boxer. For matches without the title of championship, boxers must not play if more than 0.45kg. The boxers who exceed the weight will lose 20% to 30% of the competition, this amount will be transferred to the opponent.

As for the championship battles, it is not exceeding 0.22 kg. If the fighter gained the victory, it would not be received the title of the championship.

Currently, UFC includes the following 12 weight classes:

Strawweight (female): from 48 kg to 52.2 kg

Flyweight (male and female): from 52.2 kg below 56.7 kg

Bantamweight (male and female): from over 56.7 kg to 61.2 kg

Featherweight (male and female): From over 61.2 kg to 65.8 kg

Lightweight class: From over 65.8 kg to 70.3 kg

Welterweight class: From over 70.3 kg to 77.1 kg

Middleweight: From over 77.1 kg to 83.9 kg

Light Heavyweight: From over 83.9 kg to 93 kg

Heavyweight: From over 93kg to 120.2 kg

In addition, usually when one side is overweight, the remaining boxer is entitled to refuse to compete or accept a Catchweight match (the match outside the weight rules).

In the past, we have Kelvin Gastelum many times beyond the weight of Welterweight 77 kg. As a result, this boxer was banned from playing in Welterweight permanently and was forced to play in Middleweight.
