As the first professional martial arts competition (MMA) in Vietnam, Lion Championship 2022 gathered more than 120 fighters from home and abroad. All matches from the qualifying round are broadcast live on television, as well as social networking platforms.

As noted by Thethao.vnLion Championship 2022 Organizing Committee broadcasted free tickets to fans to the Cau Giay District Stadium to monitor and cheer the boxers. Those who cannot go to the stadium can be viewed on the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) or a system of sports channels of Vietnam Cable Television.
In the first round of the northern region, Lion Championship has a total of 15 matches in weight classes. The most noticeable match took place on the night of 11/6, when “Lonely Cau Muay Thai” Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat played MMA for the first time in his career. According to the notice from VMMAF, the Lion Championship 2022 championship will take place in 3 stages. From June to July, the tournament will start with qualifying matches in the North, Central and South. Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho are localities hosting the qualifying round.
After the qualifying round ended, Lion Championship entered matches in the second round (quarterfinals, semi -finals) in Hanoi. Round 2 is scheduled to take place in August and September. Stage 3 – The final round is expected to take place in Phu Quoc Island in late December 2022 or early January 2023.
