Recently, appearing on Pat McAfee Show, legendary WWE Kurt Angle shared that he was predestined to receive two offers to attend UFC, respectively in 1997 and 2006, but unfortunately both the world's largest MMA tournament had to leave empty hands.
“The representative of UFC contacted me in 1997,” Kurt Angle recounted. “They promise to give me a 10 -match contract, $ 15,000 per game, so $ 150,000 10 matches. It was the highest number they could offer. With the price at that time, UFC's offer can be said to be a pretty generous contract.”
“But with real battles in UFC, there is always a risk that I face the dumbfounded knock-out and a series of injuries, even when I go to the ring and practice. If I calculate it carefully, it's not worth it. So I refused. Next year, I joined WWE, everything was great.
9 years later, UFC once again contacted Kurt Angle – now a class star, but just terminated the contract with the WWE professional wrestling tournament. With the previous mirror, Brock Lesnar, UFC also knew that a WWE star on the UFC floor could create value.
“Dana White invited me to fly to Las Vegas,” Kurt Angle said.
“His idea is to let me go to the floor a hit, even further in all Pay-Perra events with the guest audiences. The contract they offer is great, the conversation with White is also very happy, but the problem is that I have just signed a contract with TNA-Impact Wrestling.”
“When I asked Dana White to see if I could fight in both UFC and Impact, he told me not.
