In the initial announcement of UFC, the tournament is expected to organize an event in Saudi Arabia in March. However, this plan must be postponed for some objective reasons. According to the audience and the host country, 10 pairs of matches at that event were not really noticeable.
With that context, UFC's event in Saudi Arabia was moved to June. Sharing from Mr. Dana White said, Chimaev will face Robert Whittaker in the Middleweight weight class, who used to win the UFC belt temporarily.
Dana White himself also confirmed the UFC event in Saudi Arabia had to step back because the tournament wanted to arrange more noticeable talented couples. Mr. UFC said: “With an event in the Middle East, we want to create excitement to the fans. Therefore, the event must step back to have better quality.”
On the Middleweight UFC ranking, Khamzat Chimaev is currently ranked 11th. Meanwhile, Robert Whittaker ranked third. Chimaev also attracted attention by declaring him to play under the color of the UAE's shirt.
Some other notable couples of the UFC event in Saudi Arabia are the competition between Sergei Pavlovich and Alexander Volkov (Heavyweight), Kelvin Gastelum and Daniel Rodriguez (Welterweight), Johnny Walker and Volkan Oezdemir (Light HeavyWeight).
