The Dagestan Khabib Nurmagomedov boxer has retired from sports with an unbeaten record 29-0. Throughout the competition, he not only won and defended the Lightweight title but also won overwhelming against many opponents.
Even so, Khabib is not a “tough” person with his opponent. In fact, Khabib sometimes felt guilty when he was too strong with the opponent, this is what he admitted in a recent interview.
“I can point out two of them, Justin Gaethje and Michael Johnson. When I caught Johnson's arms and went to Kimura … I felt like he almost broke his hand,” Khabib Chi Se.
“I made a very careful movement, because if your arm was broken in this way, it would never be really healthy. So I was very careful, made a slow blow, and just asked him to give up.
“As for Justin … First, I target your arm and only then I switched to Triangle Choke technique … I realized, he would not give up and I didn't want to lame his hand, so I decided to make Triangle Choke,” Khabib continued.
“His parents were there, his father, his mother … in the first row. The camera did not clear, but when I entered the cage, I could see they were sitting there and looking at me. So the two of them did not want Justin Gaethje to be too seriously injured.”
