Along with the demands of the increase in the contract price of former Light Heavyweight Jon Jones, UFC President Dana White, said he did not know if Jones really wanted a match with Francis Ngannou. If not, UFC will be ready to arrange the Francis nunnou vs. Derrick Lewis 2 for Nannou's heavy kingdom.
“I still want Francis Ngannou to meet Derrick Lewis, but if Jon Jones really wants the match with nunnou, I can prioritize Jones,” Dana White clearly mentioned the priorities for Francis Ngannou's first belt protection match.
“I want to ask Jon Jones clearly – In addition to what he goes out, writing on Twitter that he wants to compete for the belt, he gained weight, and this and that – did Jones really want to compete for belt? Because Jones knew that if he wanted, he just needed to pick up the phone, call for Hunter Campbell (the host of the UFC matches) and confirm that he wanted to play.”
“I really believe that Derrick Lewis or any heavy puncher will accept the strip of the belt as soon as we call them.”
Dana White had previously stated that if he was Jones, he would not be foolish to confront a “killer” nunnou – instead, cun hiding back to the Middleweight class for safety.
“Regarding the Middleweight? Hey, I have to have a reason to gain weight to this level?” Jon Jones wrote on Twitter.
In response, almost immediately on Twitter, UFC president said he “liked” Jon Jones's attitude and once again urged him to talk to UFC's joint part.
