Former Light Heavyweight Jon Jones championship remains his opinion that he deserves a raise for the match against the new prosperity of Heavyweight Francis nunnou.
However, even when the conflicts with UFC showed no signs of postponement, Jon Jones still believed that UFC would eventually compromise to Jon Jones vs. Francis nunnou took place.
“I think the match will still be held,” Jones said in an interview on Thursday.
“UFC and will eventually choose the best solution. I think the match between me and nunnou is one of the greatest battles of our generation, it will be really sad if it doesn't happen … It will be a real tragedy if it doesn't happen.”
“On our side, everything is progressing very well. We have patience. And as I said, I will only do what we can do, control what we can control and do our work.”
The controversy between Jon Jones and UFC on the issue of increasing the salary of the match is not a new issue. Unfortunately for the fans, the negotiations for the match began and ended quite quickly with Jones declaring that the tournament was not interested in actually negotiating with him.
However, from the view of UFC, the bosses claim that Jon Jones is demanding too much. UFC President Dana White even alleged that the former Light Heavyweight championship required the amount on par with Deontay Wilder in Tyson Fury – $ 30 million. This is clearly an unacceptable number.
